MARLIN MODEL 1893 SPECIAL ORDER DELUXE ENGRAVED RIFLE WITH BIRD’S EYE MAPLE STOCK
Cal 30-30. This is the only Marlin I've ever encountered, and in talking to other collectors, it's the only one they've encountered as well, with pistol grip uncheckered maple stock. Very interesting, unusual and guaranteed correct. Sensational little gun engraved in pattern 5-4 also known as Monarch of the Glen; different than others I've seen-the game scene is quite a bit bigger on both sides of the frame. Orig 24 full oct bbl, full mag, mint bore, take down frame. The pistol grip uncheckered fancy maple stock is in exc+ cond retaining most orig varnish with very minor crackling in the finish; correct rifle style buttplate. Overall gun is in exc+ cond with 98-99% orig bbl and mag blue; 90% orig case colors, starting to tone in the high areas. Fine little gun.
