FACTORY ENGRAVED WINCHESTER MODEL 95 TAKE DOWN RIFLE
Cal 30-03. This gun is pictured on page 153 of the Winchester Handbook by George Madis. It features a relatively high grade of engraving referred to as the 18 dollar grade which is a grape leaf vine background with two scenes. One side has a grizzly bear and the other has a pair of caribou running. Original high grade 3X walnut wood is in VG+ condition. Sharp checkering and a shotgun style buttplate. Original bbl is a 24"heavy weight round bbl with full band at the breech and scrolls reaching out at the breech end of the bbl. Original sights include a Marbles #2 front sight leaf flip up rear sight and Lyman 21 series receiver sight. VG bore. Overall gun is in excellent cond with a 90% toning bbl blue and about 75% toning receiver blue. All engraving is clean and sharp with no pitting. Just slightly turning metal with traces of plum-brown starting to appear. All original, hard to find. Very few 95's were ever engraved.
