FACTORY ENGRAVED PRESENTATION MARLIN MODEL 1881 RIFLE
 Cal 40. Orig 28" full oct bbl, full length magazine tube. Orig fancy deluxe checkered straight grip stock is in exc cond retaining most orig varnish; complete with shotgun style buttplate. Engraved on the side of the rec is the name 'Clinton White'. He started the Republican party in the state of California, held a number of appointed offices and went on to be their 1st governor. Gun is fitted with an orig Slotterbek scope and there's documentation between White and Slotterbek regarding the scope. A considerable amount of documentation accompanies this gun as to Clinton White's role in the early politics of California. Overall cond is exc with 90% bbl and mag blue; 75% thinning case colors on the rec. Exc+ inside and out. Very interesting gun.
