EXTREMELY FINE CASED DELUXE ENGRAVED SMITH PATENTED CIVIL WAR CARBINE
Serial number 5. This is undoubtedly the finest of it's kind, engraved by Gustavas Young with Civil War battle scenes motif within a panel on the triggerguard; Civil War Union Officer motif in a panel on top of the frame. Gun is absolutely sensational with deluxe fancy burl wood retaining all the high gloss lacquer finish, bbl retains virtually all the blue, case colors on the frame are at 85% strong. Triggerguard, hammer, buttplate and every other part are elaborately engraved. Cased in a deluxe presentation rosewood case with various accoutrements accompanying the gun including a loading tool, percussion caps, sling, etc. This has to rate among the highest of any Civil War Presentation carbines of its kind. Only two Smith patented carbines are known to have been engraved.
