On top of the half oct bbl, is "B & S New York" and "Cast Steel." A quite unique early hammerless type percussion pistol. The B & S was made sometime in the 1840s-1850s. Cal is approximately .34-.36. Very typical of the day scroll engraving. All markings very visible. Action works nice. A unique collectable in wonderful condition for very little money!
