(EL-AD1) 66 WINCHESTER AND HENRY PAIR
This pair of guns are on consignment to us from a California collection. They were formerly in the H. Balls collection for the last 60 years and wererecently sold to another collector on the West Coast. These guns were part of the award winning gun show display that was called 'FT. Winchester'. Both guns compliment each other beautifully; one is a factory engraved Henry in the 5,3XX serial number range with fancy wood, the other one is a factory engraved 66 Winchester in the 36,XXX range with fancy wood as well; slight repair at the toe. Both have a beautiful very deep butterscotchy brass patina on the receivers. The 66 retains a considerable amount of orig blue; traces of blue on the Henry. Both exhibit some of the finest deepest patina that I've seen on a pair of guns for a number of years. Beautiful inside and out. Guns are to be sold as a pair as per the consignors wishes or the Henry alone but he prefers to sell them as a pair. Quite simply...THE ONLY (CLOSE TO) MATCHED PAIR EVER OFFERED! ~~> VIEW PHOTO <~~ e

(EL-8736) VERY UNIQUE WINCHESTER MODEL 66 MUSKET
Marked on the sideplate: "County Jail, San Francisco, 1872". This, I understand, is one of 3 of this type of gun that exists; the whereabouts of the other 2 is unknown. Overall gun is in VG+ cond; sharp bbl markings, orig sling swivels. Orig musket style wood is full and proud; has not been sanded, no splits or cracks and complete with a brass musket style buttplate. The receiver is a butterscotchy, deep mustard patina coloration. Marked on top of the frame: "44 WRF". This is very understandable-San Francisco, at about this time, received a bunch of Colt Lightning rifles in 44 WCF (44-40) and I can see where they would have marked this gun just to be sure that nobody mixed up the ammo between the two. Very fine, interesting, historical California marked Winchester. Guaranteed all orig.

(EL-8678) 4TH MODEL WINCHESTER 66 RIFLE
Brass forend cap, steel butt-plate, full oct bbl, full length magazine tube. Mag tube and bbl show some signs of being cleaned; the bbl is mostly a plum brown coloration, the mag tube has a more nickelly color to it. Orig wood is generally VG with a small chip missing out of the front of the forearm; other than that, it probably would grade exc. Receiver is untouched and is a fairly dark mustard yellow color. Correct orig sling swivels, orig wood is generally VG with a piece missing out of the forearm: 2" long by about 1/8", brass forend cap and buttplate. Bbl has turned mostly a plum brown patina coloration, good markings and I believe a sight from a 66 carbine is fitted to the rear sight. Receiver is generally a dark patina mustard coloration with fairly sharp corners, a few mars and dings; other than that, it's not a bad looking gun. Nice functioning action, all matching numbers. These are getting harder and harder to find all the time. ~~> VIEW PHOTO <~~ e

Good traces of blue, the balance turning a plum patina coloration, fine markings, sharp corners, action is crisp and tight. The 4th Model is a fairly scarce gun having been made out of steel parts on the forend cap and buttplate-rarely, if ever encountered.
