Taylor.' His initials are very elaborately engraved on the butt. He went on to be a very well known successful businessman after graduating from Harvard. Taylor worked for a number of automobile manufacturers and airline companies where he patented numerous devices. Entirely engraved: gold gilted receiver elaborately engraved and retains nearly all the orig gold gilt; bbl is in excellent cond retaining all the orig blue; orig mother-of-pearl grips. Beautifully cased in a French Moroccan style leather case with a 'Stevens Arms and Tool Company' label on top which also has the '..1st perfect score of 100' statement on it. Very neat and interesting as far as early American target shooting is concerned. Gun is near mint condition; complete with tools fitted inside the case and a box of cartridges. ANTIQUE KNIFE PISTOL BY JAMES ROGERS OF SHEFFIELDItem # MHG474-20-313
SAVAGE REVOLVING FIRE-ARMS CO NAVY MODELItem # MHG479-19-481 A very unusual and seldom seen percussion pistol made during the Civil War era. Cal 36 6-shot cylinder. 7-1/2" oct bbl. Pretty much the period standard loading lever system, but with a lever and a trigger. The lever thus indexing the cylinder and cocking the hammer. The trigger fires the arm. A big handgun with overall length of approximately 14". Grey coloration and was likely cleaned years ago. All markings are very good. Mechanics work well. Wooden grip is in nice condition with some shrinkage. The only negative is that the little ramrod catch is missing. This truly is a unique collectable from the Civil War Era! A lot of Savage revolving pistols were purchased by the US Government.
METROPOLITAN ARMS COMPANY NEW YORK PISTOLItem # MHG481-19-440 Back in those days, everyone tried to copy a good thing. The Metropolitan, from a distance, you would swear was a Colt Navy. It does have the brass backstrap and the tiny trigger guard that you can barely get your finger in. Action works. Cylinder does index. Overall condition is quite nice. Good collectable piece!

Approximately .58 Caliber. 11" bbl, 17" overall length. Simple engraving on top strap with the numeral '2'. The brass furniture motifs have been beautifully designed with a definite romantic influence. Brass has turned a very rich dark patina-quite greenish in areas. The walnut has been tastefully carved as well using vine and floral motifs. Generally VG+ cond with some small bits of wood missing near the brass buttcap. Horn forearm tip, ram rod tip missing. Attractive. Includes photos of disassembled gun as well as research notes from the consignor.

VERY RARE FRANKENAU PURSE PISTOLItem # MHG418-19-417 Pistol is mounted inside a purse. The gun is pictured on page 159 of the book "Firearms Curiosa" by Lewis Winant. This is a very interesting item. It is truly a coin purse. One side opens by a lever and inside is a small pin fire 5-shot revolver. Only the muzzle is visible at the end of the purse. Purse measures 2-1/2 by 3-1/2". It has a brass frame design. On one side of the purse is the original velour lining and the other side is missing the lining with only the inside brass coin purse visible. Other than that, the gun is in near excellent condition with a trigger that drops down for activating the revolver. I believe these were made in Germany and only about 200 were produced. Unique disguised protection device.

Overall gun is a plum-brown coloration with excellent wood. All complete and original unaltered. Very interesting piece
CASED PAIR OF ENGRAVED BELGIAN PERCUSSION PISTOLSItem # MHG378-17-487 Of approximately 60 Bore. Both featuring swivel mounted ramrods, 9 bbls measuring 15-1/2" overall, locks are very nicely engraved and inlaid in gold on each nicely engraved sideplate is 'LAPORT IRMAOS RIO DE JANEIRO'. Wood has probably been cleaned some time ago and is in exc cond with no splits or cracks, the bbls appear to have been refinished at one time and retain most of the nice plum brown reapplied finish. The case is probably of newer silverware casing but still looks very nice. It's done very well with a modern flask, rammer, bullet mold and a few other things. Nice little outfit.
