VG+ wood with a 2” crack on left side near breech, another crack on right near bolt handle, a small piece missing atop wrist, ‘US’ atop buttplate, ‘DFC’ on frame and bolt, top of stock near buttplate is ‘I.D.P. 65’. Only 770 were made for the Army. Missing the cleaning rod, complete with sling rings and stacking ring. e

(9-726) EXTREMELY RARE REMINGTON KEENE 20" CARBINE

Most carbine examples are found with 22" barrels but few 20" examples are known. Upon careful examination of this carbine, we can only conclude that it is authentic. Serial number 1991, good bore with some pitting and fairly strong rifling, correct front and short folding leaf rear barrel sights; correct flanged top carbine buttplate and sling swivels-one of which is incorporated with the correct forend cap. This example appears to have had a fair amount of usage as the metal has been carefully cleaned long ago with some scattered pin prick pitting visible here and there. Old touch up finish has become very thin and is a plummish gray coloration, excellent mechanics. The walnut has been carefully cleaned as well-full fitting and looks good. Call for details on this Keene Carbine! e
