Original 26” barrels choked F & M. Excellent bore, auto ejectors, double triggers and cocking indicators. Receiver is of a scalloped, box-lock design featuring 90% coverage of very fine, delicate rose-scroll style engraving, retains 75-80% bright case colors. Barrels have been re-blacked and retain most of the re-finish. Sharp corners, excellent markings. Rear sling swivel intact on stock but missing the one on the barrel. Made by M. Forstner in Carlsruhe. Beautiful gun. Very elaborately engraved in relief with back action style locks, gold inlaid makers name on both locks and barrel, gold inlaid crown at top of breech. Original checkered Circassian walnut stock is in excellent condition with an engraved steel buttplate. Original 28” barrels are in very near excellent condition, complete with original sling swivels. Very nice, unique, well done gun with half of the original Damascus print remaining and mostly case colored turned silver on the frame and lock. e

(13-528) VERY NICE FRENCH DOUBLE BARREL FLINTLOCK FOWLER BY LACAILLE

This is a very fine quality little French Flintlock shotgun with nicely engraved locks. The top of the barrel has a considerable amount of gold wash inlaid into the breech; barrels are a smooth plum brown coloration. Original stock is of walnut and is in excellent condition with very elaborate fish scale checkering at the wrist and the forestock bears an extremely fine relief carving around the barrel tang and tailpiece; correct leather cheekpad. Mechanical aspect of the gun features gooseneck style hammers with bridle frizzens and fancy roller frizzen springs. Nice, clean, sharp little gun in very nice condition. ~~> VIEW PHOTO <~~ e

(9-979) ENGLISH COMBINATION GUN BY GHIGHAM & SON, WARRINGTON IN .50 CALIBER AND 28 GAUGE

Original 30” barrels, both bores are in very nice condition, underlever opener with hammers which have the side lock safety feature. Original straight stock Circassian walnut wood is in fine condition showing some minor mars and dings but is sound and solid with no splits. Overall metal is very nice with a brown patina coloration to the barrels, the receiver is very beautifully engraved with tight English style scrolls and is mostly a grayish coloration with good traces of case colors in the protected areas. Fine bores choked full and improved modified, 30” barrels retain 95% bright shiny barrel blue, receiver retains 25% case colors with 50-60% original blue remaining on the underside of the receiver. Border areas tastefully engraved. Boxlock with ejectors and double triggers, checkered splinter forearm and straight grip stock are VG. 14¼” pull to the end of the original stock. This in an English made under lever gun-very beautifully done. Wood is in excellent condition with most original varnish and some very light hunting mars; correct steel buttplate. Original 28” Damascus barrels retain most original damascene pattern; fine bores. The case colored receiver retains a considerable amount of case colors turning silvery. (12-515) HEUSE-LEMOINE DOUBLE BARREL COMBINATION PINFIRE/PERCUSSION 16 GAUGE SHOTGUN

This is the only gun I’ve seen manufactured this way: it converts from a Pinfire to a Percussion. Very high quality in excellent condition with 29” barrels which retain 90%+ vivid Damascus pattern. Underlever opener, backaction lock and receiver are superbly engraved with deep relief chiseled motifs featuring dragons and flying monsters. Original stock shows a fair amount of wear to the checkering but is in fine condition with no splits or cracks; complete with cheekpiece and sling eyes. Missing the ramrod, the right hand hammer and the casing marked #1. The #2 casing is with gun. Still a fine little gun. ~~> VIEW PHOTO <~~ e

(12-569) VERY INTERESTING GERMAN MADE SINGLE BARREL FOWLING SHOTGUN

Inlaid in silver on top of the barrel, “J.FUCHIN-ROTTERODE’. Original half octagon 33” barrel, 20 Gauge. Very elaborately done gun. Unmarked lock; spring mounted nipple cover. Full length musket style stock, forend and wrist have sharp checkering panels with quite numerous amount of silver studs off-setting the checkering. German silver furniture (cleaning rod holders, buttplate and triggerguard). Stocks retain most original varnish. Overall metal is a plum brown coloration with some minor pits. Interesting German Shotgun. e

Half octagon barrel; 30” in length, near excellent bore. Overall gun is in excellent condition. Circassian style checkered walnut stocks are in excellent condition with a considerable amount of brown Damascus pattern remaining on the barrel and VG traces case color remaining on the receiver. Delicately done gun, very tastefully engraved. All origianl and excellent throughout. The back action lock believed to be of European manufacture. e

(12-514) BEAUTIFULLY DONE BARMEN PINFIRE DOUBLE BARREL CAPE GUN IN CALIBER 56 & 16 GAUGE BORE

Beautifully done gun with back action locks, an under lever type of opening system which is an ornate little lever directly in front of the trigger guard which pushes forward to open the action. Elaborately engraved with game scenes and numerous gold inlays-the makers name is in gold as well as gold frames around some of the game scenes. VG bores, barrels retain 50-60% of the original brown Damascus pattern; receiver is a light gun metal gray with sharp corners and engraving, excellent walnut stocks with an unusual right hand cheek piece.
